Hi, I’m a European Director of Photography, based in Berlin and Mexico-City.
Growing up in a theater family, I was already drawn to the visual arts as a child. As a teenager, I was determined to become an actor, and even appeared on stage in numerous roles. But then I more and more explored the perspective behind the scenes. After my first short films as a director, I discovered a great passion for cinematography. I applied to Germany’s oldest film school – Filmuniversity Babelsberg – and began my cinematography studies directly. During my studies I had also the great privilege to spend a year abroad in Mexico City at El CCC – Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica. Therefore my interest is not only in European film, but also in Latin American film. My main focus is on dramatic narratives (gladly with a touch of humor) – whether feature films, documentaries, music videos or commercials. I prefer to create my images in semi-darkness, with wide lenses and natural light.
